The Telangana High Court has granted interim protection to landowners challenging the acquisition of their lands for the Musi Riverfront Development Project. Justice K. Sarath directed the State authorities not to dispossess the petitioners until the next hearing and asked the government and its agencies to file counter affidavits within two weeks.
Landowners challenging the acquisition can remain on their properties until the next court hearing, temporarily blocking the state's ability to seize the land for the development project.
