A key military architect of the 'Greater Serbia' project, Mladic was convicted in 2017 of 'genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes' during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina by judges at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Imprisoned in The Hague, he died on August 27.
