Severe storms tore through metro Detroit. Prompting a local state of emergency in Detroit where Mayor Mary Sheffield said the east side had significant devastation. More than 20 old-growth trees were toppled at Gabriel Richard Park and knocked out nearly 100 traffic signals at the peak.
