USFS urged to extend ‘woefully’ short comment period on rule that would open ‘off-limits’ land to roads

Environmental groups are calling on the US Forest Service to extend the public comment period for its proposal to reopen nearly 45 million acres of protected land beyond the current September 21 deadline.
